Florida Residents Can Now Renew Their Medical Marijuana License Through Our Online Doctors!
There was a new update to Florida’s law on medical marijuana this week – residents can now renew their medical marijuana cards through telehealth or online doctors.
About HB 387 – Florida’s Latest Medical Marijuana Law
Gov. Ron DeSantis, with bipartisan support in the Florida Legislature, signed legislation (HB 387) which extended the ability to remotely renew medical prescriptions for cannabis. The law is titled titled “Medical Use of Marijuana,” and it officially allows patients to renew their medical marijuana license with the help from online doctors.
Governor Ron DeSantis noted that over 70 percent of Florida voters had approved medical marijuana in 2016, and thanked his colleagues in the Legislature for working with him to honor the people’s will. To meet his commitment, he then filed a joint motion to dismiss the state’s appeal and to vacate the lower court decision which deemed the prior law unconstitutional.
The new law goes into effect on July 1st, 2023.
